“I was born in India, raised in Hong Kong, studied and worked in the UK and then settled in Singapore 10 years ago. This internationalism has given me the privilege of appreciating different cultures. As a Family Physician, I understand the importance our unique backgrounds play to define our multifaceted relationship with health, enabling me to provide individualised holistic care for my patients. For me, being part of a patient’s healthcare journey, empowering them to make well-informed decisions, improving and maintaining their health, is satisfying. The ethos of Osler Health resonates with my principles of providing high quality care to my patients with evidence-based medicine.”
Dr Upadhyaya obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Birmingham, UK. She attained her postgraduate training in Family Medicine from both the UK and Singapore. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom (MRCP) and Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) from the National University of Singapore.
Dr Upadhyaya enjoys all aspects of Family Medicine. She has a keen interest in chronic diseases, including management of complex co-morbidities. She is an active advocate of preventative care for her patients, believing that prevention is the best way to protect patient health. She is passionate about women’s health, especially breastfeeding medicine. She also sees children of all ages, including newborns.
