Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment
Live well, feel well, be well.
Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment
A Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment is a thorough evaluation of your current lifestyle habits, health status, and risk factors to gain a holistic understanding of your overall health and well-being.
It involves gathering detailed information about various aspects of your current lifestyle habits in relation to the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine: eating well, stress management, positive social connections, physical activity, use of harmful substances, and restorative sleep.
With an evidence-informed, scientific approach, these pillars represent powerful tools in our fight against chronic diseases. They are much more potent at prolonging lifespan and healthspan (the period of life spent in good health, free from the chronic diseases and disabilities of aging) than any drugs currently available.
What can I expect?
During a Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment, your doctor will gather detailed information about your medical history, lifestyle habits, sleep patterns, stress levels and management, social connections, and any risky behaviours such as smoking or excessive alcohol consumption. This will enable your doctor to gain a comprehensive picture of your lifestyle and health risks and identify areas that need attention.
This information forms the foundation for creating personalised lifestyle interventions and developing a targeted plan to improve overall health and well-being. Playing the role of a coach, your doctor will work with you to set realistic, achievable goals that align with your values and priorities.
Applying the Lifestyle Medicine approach, your doctor may involve a multi-disciplinary team of allied health professionals to help support you in your health journey. At Osler Health, we work with a trusted network of nutritionists, trainers, psychologists, and coaches to get the best results for our patients. A Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment with the Osler Health doctor will take around 60 mins. We will follow up the assessment with any required tests to thoroughly review your current health and wellness.
As a Comprehensive Lifestyle Assessment is highly bespoke to each patient’s individual requirements, we are unable to provide an ‘off the shelf’ cost. We are aware that patients do require some appreciation of the price range. The initial consultation will start from $360 and at the end of the assessment, your doctor will provide you with any recommendations and associated costs. As your health is unique to you, we can only advise you of the estimated costs after the doctor has reviewed your needs at the end of the initial consultation. We always discuss the costs of tests and recommendations with you so there are no surprises.
Lifestyle Medicine allows us to intervene earlier to prevent or even reverse the disease process.
Over 80% of chronic diseases are lifestyle-related. Therefore, if we can identify the risks and collaborate early enough, we can improve your chances of having a longer healthspan.
We may recommend additional tests to ensure we have a thorough assessment of your physical and mental wellness. We will always discuss these recommended tests with you first and share costs beforehand, so you have complete control to decide whether you wish to proceed with the tests.
There are different Health Insurance packages. We suggest you liaise with your Health Insurer to advise on your health insurance benefits.
